    If you have received a phone call from TriWest, you have a VA-approved referral for care in the community; this referral is necessary for you to self-schedule your care. TriWest will call you to confirm your preferences and will provide you with instructions on how to use their network to choose a provider and make your appointment. If you choose to schedule your own appointment, you must have it scheduled within 21 days of receiving the initial phone call from TriWest, or your referral will be returned to the referring VA Medical Center. After scheduling the appointment, please notify TriWest within 24 hours.
